On the base of the research on the grain-size characters, sedimental texture, heavy minerals, content of carbonate and dissolved salt, the assemblages and the Sr/Ca/Mg content of Ostracods fossil, etc. in the later Quaternary strata in region of the Hetao basin and the northern Shanxi-Shaanxi canyon, this project will build up the sedimental strata and chronostratigraphy sequence of the later Quaternary. Through the study of the evolution of the ancient lake in the Hetao Basin, this projection would acquire the event of environment change in this area and also would analysis the inner relationship among the tectonic event, environment change and evolution of the Yellow River. At the same time, it will be discussed that the beginning of the Yellow River flowed through the Shanxi-Shaanxi Gorge. It is significant for the deeper comprehension of the evolution of Yellow river and its environmental effect to do those studies.
项目通过对河套盆地和晋陕峡谷喇嘛湾-河曲段晚第四纪地层的粒度特征、沉积结构、重矿物、碳酸盐含量、易溶盐组分、介形类化石组合和介形类壳体Sr、Ca、Mg等研究,建立河套地区晚第四纪沉积地层序列与年代地层序列,重建河套晚第四纪古湖演化过程,确定河套地区古环境转型事件,剖析构造事件、环境事件和黄河水系演化间的内在联系,确定黄河进入晋陕峡谷的时代,探讨黄河河套-晋陕峡谷段的形成与演化,对于深刻理解黄河水系演化及其环境效应具有重要的理论和实践意义。
