Qilinchang-type Pb-Zn deposit is a new type of ore deposit. Huize super-large Pb-Zn deposit of Yunnan province , which located in the south of Chuan-Dian-Qian polymetallic ore field, is a typical case of such type of Pb-Zn deposit.The remarkable characters of this type of Pb-Zn deposit are high grade of Pb and Zn,many kinds of associated useful elements, large ore-forming scale and high economic.value and study value . In this project, we have detail studied on Huize superlarge Pb-Zn deposit. Based on the ore-forming geological settings and ore geological characters , we.have used Sm-Nd isochron method to calculate the age of this deposit. On the other hand, according to major elements, ore-f orming elements, rare earth elements geochemistry, Pb, S, C, H, O isotopic compositions and fluid inclusion geochemistry, we have studied the ore-forming physical-chemical conditions, the source of ore-forming materials , the source and evolutionary process of mineralizing fluids, the.relationship between ore-forming process and magmatic activity (mantle plume-hot spot activity) of Emeishan basalt in the southwest , then established the metallogenic model.of this deposit. The result shows, Huize superlarge Pb-Zn deposit (“Qilinchang-type”Pb-Zn deposit) has advantageous ore-forming geological settings and distinctive geological characters. Its metallogenetic epoch is closed to that of Emeishan basalt.(218Ma~256Ma).The ore-forming materials and mineralizing fluids have several sources . During the evolutionary process of mineralizing fluids, homogenization must be happened . Emeishan basalt has been provided part of ore-forming materials,.mineralizing fluids and energy. These researching results are not only very important to the further study on the ore-forming mechanism but also very important to understand the relationship between magmatic activity (mantle plume-hot spot activity) of Emeishan basalt, regional-scale Fluids Migration and Qilinchang-type Pb-Zn deposit.
