VA菌根与作物矿质营养的关系密切，但至今，形成VA菌根的真菌尚不能人工培养。因此影响了这类有益微生物的深入研究和广泛利用.本项目拟从化学和物理学角度实验研究该类真菌的生长发育条件，探求限制VA菌根真菌纯培养的主要因子。
