With the increase of the capacity of hard disk drive, both high rotation-speed and high rotation-precision of the spindle of a hard disk drive are basic performance. It is becoming more and more difficult for traditional ball bearings and slide bearings to meet the demand. Magnetic bearings have many unique characteristics such as high rotation speed, high precision, no contact, no friction, low power consumption and so on. This project is focused on the feasibility of the application of magnetic bearing technology in hard disk drives, and the primitive result shows that use of magnetic bearing technology in hard disk drive is feasible not only in principle but also in structure. Research on magnetic levitated hard disk drive is still in the experimental stage abroad, and no report on commercialized products is found both in abroad and home. Therefore it is significant in theory and economy to study and hold the core technology of magnetic levitated hard disk drive with own knowledge right.

硬盘转速的不断提高意味着磨损的加剧、温度的升高、噪声的增大等一系列负面影响的加大。本项目提出在不改变硬盘规格的情况下,将磁悬浮技术应用于硬盘的支承,不仅可以大幅度提高硬盘转速,而且还使得硬盘具有无磨损、无噪声、精度高、寿命长、发热少、功耗低等特性。因此,磁悬浮硬盘支承具有极大的研究价值,产品具有良好的市场前景。
