Taxonomic studies of Elymus L. raise confusing questions such as definition and taxonomic classification among species of genus Elymus. Genus Elymus is an important economic taxon in Triticeae. Most species of Elymus are good grazing grasses and some species have exceptional characteristics for enduring cold, druought and alkalinity. These are always used as important germplasm resources for grass breeding and improved breeds of crops. However, Elymus is a complicated genus and many controversial questions are proposed by different scholars. These questions arise not only by its own complexity, but also by the subjective factors of agrostologists with different research methods. So this project aims to determine the definition and revise the species of genus Elymus by defferent methods such as the morphology, anatomy, embryology, cytology and molecular technique.
披碱草属是禾本科、小麦族的一个经济属,绝大多数种是畜牧业上的优良牧草,有些种类具有耐寒、耐旱、耐碱等特性,是农牧业上良种繁育的重要基因资源;但该属同时又是分类学上的一个疑难属,其属的存疑问题较多,尤其在属的界限、属下类群划分上仍存在颇多争议。为此,本项目拟选择该类群作为研究对象,采用形态学、解剖学、胚胎学、细胞学、以及分子生物学的多学科证据,对披碱草属进行较为全面的分类学研究,从多方位确认属的范围和界限,对属下类群进行订正,重新建立更加自然的分类系统。同时,在掌握农、牧业特性的基础上,为牧草利用、良种繁育提供理论依据、育种途径和种质原材料。
