It is especially important to implement validation run and find out disruptive problems as soon as possible for the Ali observatory in the remote and high altitude area in Tibet, which will provide feasibility study for subsequent telescope projects and avoid risk of large telescope investments. This program put forward to make practical observatory operation and conduct real observing research at Ali site, based on the 50 cm telescopes and deployed instruments, in order to examine the site operation, to validate the site technical conditions, and to reveal the observational advantages, and at the same time to refine our observing techniques and support team. This program is an important stage to finally make practical astronomical observations at Ali site, and a necessary pilot study for the requirement of excellent sites for large telescope development and space exploration. The program takes advantages of Ali site with small telescopes to carry out observations in the infrared and ultraviolet wavebands, and in daytime; it is expected to open more broad atmospheric windows for the infrared and ultraviolet ground-based observations, to improve our detection ability in daytime of space exploration, and to obtain significant scientific results in astronomical observations.
尽快实施台站验证运行和发现颠覆性问题,对于处于高海拔偏远地区的西藏阿里观测站尤为重要,将为后续望远镜项目投入提供可行性论证和避免大型望远镜设备投入的风险。本项目提出利用阿里站50公分望远镜设备实施台站运行和开展观测课题研究,以检验台站运行状况、验证站址技术条件、展示站址的优势观测能力,同时提炼观测运行方式和台站支撑队伍。本项目研究是实现阿里站科学观测的一个重要阶段,为发展大望远镜及空间探测所急需的优秀站址开展必要的前期研究。利用阿里站址优势和小望远镜设备开展红外、紫外和昼间观测,有望为我国的红外紫外地面观测打开更开阔的大气窗口、提升空间探测的昼间观测能力和取得显著的天文观测科学产出。
尽快实施台站验证运行和发现颠覆性问题,对于处于高海拔偏远地区的西藏阿里观测站尤为重要,将为后续望远镜项目投入提供可行性论证和避免大型望远镜设备投入的风险。本项目研究通过对高海拔阿里站长期实际运行验证其支撑可行性,部署台址测量设备和小望远镜观测设备取得了大量研究数据,为站址条件评估和台站维护运行积累大量的基础数据和现场经验,未发现颠覆性问题。项目实施有效促进了观测平台的布局发展,带动了多项候选设备项目的考察论证和落地建设投入,也体现出阿里高晴天率、高海拔、低水汽的特色优势,将对阿里站观测平台的后期应用产生积极的推动作用。
