This project is study on theories and historical experience of planning, construction and management of the urban canal system in ancient China.. An urban canal system in ancient China functions in many way as supply of water, water borne transportation, irrigation and aquaculture, military defense, drainage system floods and domestic waste, flood storage and mitigation, fire fighting, shelter from storms, landscaping and recreation and environment tempering. The significance of the urban canal system in city development may be concluded in four aspects as site stabilizing, industry and commerce developing, living environment improvement and giving identity to individual features of different cities. Because of its importance, the urban canal system was called as "the blood circulation of city", being precious historical and cultural heritage of China. Seeing that the urban canal system was destroyed seriously in recent times, and that urban water logging occurs frequently, features of cities disappearing, study of this project not only may enrich the theories of city planning, and offer expreinces against water logging and mitigation for reference, but it may contribute to build modern cities with China's historical and cultural features. The content of study including the theories of planning, construction and management of urban canal system, and it's planning principles and ways, it's types and patterns. The objective of this project is to achieve a plan to build modern urban canal system with China's features. This project is to study by the ways of theories of systematicness, intersection of multi-subjects and comparison studies. The feature of this project is to combine the study with cultivation of post graduates.The project brings forth new ideas as using the approach of intersecting with multi-subjects.
本项目为中国古城水系营建的学说及历史经验研究。. 中国古城的水系有供水、交通运输、溉田灌圃和水产养殖、军事防御、排水排洪、调蓄洪水、防灾、躲避风浪、造园绿化和水上娱乐、改善城市环境十大功用,并有稳定城址,促进工商业发展,提供了较高质量的生活居住环境,有助于形成城市特色之四大作用,被誉为古城的血脉,是珍贵的历史文化遗产。鉴于近现代古城水系受到严重破坏,造成城市内涝频繁,特色丧失,本项目的研究不仅可以丰富城市规划的理论,为现代城市防涝减灾提供借鉴,也有助于建设具有中国历史文化特色的现代城市。本项目研究的内容包括古城水系营建的学说,规划布局的方法,水系的类型和形态,目标是提出建设具有中国特色的现代城市水系的设想。本项目的研究运用系统学、多学科交叉,比较等方法。将国家自然科学基金项目的研究与博士研究生培养结合起来,为本项目的特色。多学科交叉为本项目的创新之处。
