Computer-to-Plate printing plate sensitive to violet laser has a wide prospect ecause.of its advantages in sensitivity, image quality and environment-friendly porperties. This project focuses on some foundmental problems concerning to CTP plate based on silver halide Diffusion Transfer Reversal system. The sensitivity of silver chloride in violet range was improved by iodide adulteration technique. The interaction between silver chloride crystals and several kinds of short-wavelength cyanine dyes were studied,respectively. It was found that some factors greatly affected the effiency of sensitization,such as adsorption of dyes and energy transfer process. As a result, the spectrum sensitivity of silver halide was broadened. Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) was applied to observe the nanometer-sized particles which serve as catalytic center in physical.developing process. An qulitive relation between catalytic activity of these particles and their size was studied. The above results became a solid foundmental for further research on this kind of CTP material sensitive to laser light.
