We prepared successfully a kind of silver bromoiodide microcrystal composite of pure silver iodide core and silver bromide shell using the double injector controlled by computer. The experimental processes were involved in three steps. The work in each step is to prepare a kind of crystals of silver halide. First, mono-dispersed tetrahedron microcrystal of pure silver iodide were prepared as crystal seeds. Second, the pure silver iodide deposited epitxially at the corners of the tetrahedron and formed four hexagonal bipyramids of silver iodide. Then, tabular silver bromoiodide crystals lateral grew on the surface of pyramid top. The complete micro-crystals contained four silver iodide framework and four tabular silver bromoiodide grains. The content of silver iodide in the inside of microcrystals could be controlled by changing the concentration ratio of I- and Br- ions. At the outside of the crystal can also cover a layer of pure silver bromide and inside can doped some sensitizers to improve the sensitive properties of the crystal.
