在《天文学进展》上开办科学基金栏目

Progress in Astronomy, one of the key astronomical journals in China, was founded in June 1983. It is published quarterly by Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, an institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), on behalf of the Chinese Astronomical Society. The journal publishes review articles and research papers on the most recent developments in astronomical research from around the world, articles on the frontiers of science, research notes, special lectures, reports on scientific activities. The readership ranges from research scientists in astronomy to university teachers and graduate students..Since it was founded, Progress in Astronomy has continued to improve on quality and scientific level, under the sponsorship and support of the Astronomical Committee of CAS, the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the host institute Shanghai Astronomical Observatory. Issues are published on time, but under a strict policy of refereeing and proofreading, and every effort is given to ensure the production of a modern journal with a consistent style.

《天文学进展》（季刊）是由中国科学院上海天文台、中国天文学会主办、国家自然科学基金委员会数理学部协办的学术期刊。它主要刊登反映国内外天文学研究的最新进展、发展方向以及作者见解的述评文章，也发表科研前沿介绍、专题讲座、研究简讯、学术活动报道等稿件。本刊是我国天文学核心期刊之一，也是天文学发展必不可少的学术刊物。由于从事天文学研究的专业人员相对较少，全国也才近千人，故本刊订阅数相对较少。要维持下去，办刊经费是一个大问题。国家自然科学基金委员会对我刊的支持有重要的作用，是我刊能以为继的重要因素之一。

《天文学进展》（季刊）是受中国天文学会委托，由中国科学院上海天文台主办、国家自然科学基金委员会数理学部协办的学术期刊。它主要刊登反映国内外天文学研究的最新进展、发展方向以及作者见解的述评文章，也发表科研前沿介绍、专题讲座、研究简讯、学术活动报道等稿件。本刊内容丰富，涉及天文学各个领域。《天文学进展》主要以综合述评为主。这不仅对某一研究专题或方向进行历史回顾使读者了解其发展进程，更重要的是将其最新进展情况介绍给读者，从专业的角度加以评论，使科研人员能清晰了解有关研究领域国内外发展的最新情况，存在的主要问题，解决问题的一些思路，领域目前的主攻方向等。本刊是我国天文学核心期刊之一，也是天文学发展必不可少的学术刊物。
