Incoherent scattering radar (ISR) is the only instrument which can detect the plasma parameters in the whole ionosphere range. In current ISR systems there're limited kinds of waveforms aimed at different ionosphere regions,but detection of the intricate and quickly changed ionosphere need more flexible waveform design. In the proposal, by utilizing the software ISR being constructed at our unit and the MST radars of the Meridian Space Weather Monitoring Project, we prepare to research a new kind of diverse pulse ISR waveform with random phase coding and its according echo processing methods. The novel method has the advanges of low power, large detection and Doppler range,high range-Doppler resolution without blind zones, and is suitable for the space plasma's incoherent scatterng detection. Successful development of such new waveform and its according echo processing methods will enhance the ISR system's detection ability for the complex targets, and reduce its constructing and operating cost to some extent. The implementation of the project will enrich and improve the technologies and methods of ionospheric ISR detection, and fulfil the requirements of ionospheric research and space weather supervising and forecasting. It has both important scientific value and practical significance.
非相干散射雷达是唯一能测量整个电离层范围内等离子体参数的设备。现有非相干散射雷达探测波形是有限的几种类型,分别针对不同的电离层区域,但是探测复杂和迅速变化的电离层需要灵活的波形设计。本申请旨在利用本单位正在研制的非相干散射软件雷达,以及子午工程的MST雷达等设备,研究一种新型的参差脉冲随机相位编码复合调制的非相干散射雷达波形及其对应的回波处理方法。新波形具有发射功率小、兼顾远距离大多普勒范围探测、距离及多普勒分辨率高、无探测盲区等诸多优点,适用于空间等离子体目标的非相干散射探测。新波形及其回波处理方法的成功研制将增强非相干散射雷达对于复杂目标的探测能力,并在一定程度上降低其建设运行成本。本项目的实施将丰富和发展电离层非相干散射雷达探测的技术与方法,满足电离层研究及空间环境的监测和预报的迫切需要,具备重要的科学价值和实用意义。
