Carbonate platform in offshore aeras have been confirmed as important deepwater hydrocarbon reserviors in South China Sea. Studies on its distribution, forming process and controlling factors preserves sufficient informations about the Cenozoic tectonic evolution in the South China Sea. Based on composite geophysical transects covering the Reed Bank area , the South Margin of the South China Sea, combined with drilling and dreging data, we place some constrains on the understanding of carbonate platforms, efforts include (1)the sequence stratigraphic framework, the seismic characteristics, and sedimentary facies,to analysis the sedimentary features, types and lithology; (2)forming and downing time and rules of development; (3)the interplay between tectonics, especially the Cenozoic seafloor spreading and the following collsion and subduction of the Southern Margin with Borneo and Palawan, sea level change and depositional rates that result in the complicate platfrom geometry and evolutional model. The main goal of this work is to present an overview of carbonate platform development since Late Oligocene in the Reed Bank area.This work could contribute to the study about the relation between the deep sea sedimentary process and the tectonic evolution in South China Sea, also the hydrocarbon exploration in deep sea region.
南海南部陆缘碳酸盐台地不仅是该地区油气成藏重要的储集层,而且其分布特征、发育历史和控制因素蕴含了南海新生代构造演化的丰富信息,是记录南海演变过程的重要载体。本课题拟利用覆盖南海南部陆缘礼乐滩区的综合地球物理剖面及相关钻井、拖网等资料,对该区碳酸盐台地开展系统研究,包括:(1)高分辨率层序地层格架建立,碳酸盐台地的地震反射特征和沉积相研究,分析碳酸盐台地的沉积特征、类型和岩性特征;(2)研究区碳酸盐台地从形成到消亡的时间节点和发育过程;(3)结合海平面变化等因素,分析碳酸岩台地对南海新生代陆缘张裂-海底扩张及后期南部陆缘与婆罗洲-巴拉望的陆陆碰撞、俯冲过程的构造响应,揭示南部碳酸盐台地的演化模式及控制因素。该研究有助于探讨深海沉积过程对南海海盆演变的响应,并为深水区油气勘探提供理论支持。
