Chalcidids are beneficial natural resources. These parasitoids can attack many important pests in agriculture and forestry. But we knew little about Chinese Chalcidids and felt confused on systematics of Chinese chalcidids before. From March, 2000 to November, 2002, we conducted an investigation in resources of Chinese chalcidids, collected a lot of specimens, and studied the geographic distribution, morphological characters and systematics of Chalcididae. As a result of study, the number of known chalcidids is up to 170 species. 60 new species, 4 new synonyms and 2 new combinations are described now. All these researches lay the foundation for further utilization of natural enemies of Chalcididae.
本项目拟在全国范围广泛采集小蜂科标本,并对其进行系统研究。研究内容包括资源调查、种类鉴定、比较形态学与超微结构、地理分布、生物学以及系统发育关系推断等。将较全面地揭示我国小蜂科种类资源情况,建立合理的分类系统,弥补我国小蜂科研究的不足,改变对这一类群大敌所知甚少的现状,为开发利用其防治农业、林业及卫生害虫提供依据。
