The characteristics of the fill-in in North china epicontinental sea basin and the high-resolution stratigraphic framwork thereof have been studied based on the mordern theory and method of high-resolution stratigraphy ,and correlations have been made within a large area. The main new creative fruits of the research project are as follows: The forming of depositional sequences and the interfaces among the inner sedimentation unit were thought to be controlled by the paroxysmal transgression, after the thorough study on the interfaces of transgressive events and peatification events and the transgressive sequences; The theory of coal forming under the transgressive events was put forward, which enriches the basic theory on coal geology; New advance and knowledge have been achived in the area of ancient lives, especially that of the microbody ancient life through a systematic study on several categories of ancient lives of late palaeozoic in many coal fields of western Shandong; The fractal theory was applied for the first time to the division of coal-bearing measures and the explanation of the complexity of their geologic background; Multiscale division of the depositional sequnces has been made by means of wavelet transform of logging data, which gives a new way of thinking in quantifying the study of sedimentary fill-in sequences and has laid a good foundation for further relative study in the area.

通过对华北晚古生代特大型陆表海聚煤盆地东南部沉积充填的动力学机制分析、精细的事件地层对比、定年及沉积过程分析、海侵过程成煤的动力学成因模式研究、高分辨率古生物地层分析以及高频海平面变化分析,建立特大型陆表海盆地海侵过程成煤模式和高频层序地层格架,提出陆表海盆地密集段形成及沉积动力学模型和海侵过程成煤作用机制。
