The beetle subfamily Dascillinae belongs to the order Coleoptera and family Dascillidae, 7 genera and 60 species recorded in the world, is the biggest group in this family which distributes mainly in the Oriental Region. However, the classification of the genera is still ambiguous while biology and ecology are also obscure. The Chinese fauna of Dascillinae is extraordinarily rich and includes 5 genera and 34 species but needs a systematic research because most of them described by foreign scholars in early-20th-century with few descriptions, unclear definition among interspecies, single specimen and other problems. The applicant intends to base on previous research, mainly aims to deal with the China Dascillinae fauna, illuminating accurate intergeneric difference, perfecting system of comprehensive classification of Dascillinae; clarifying the doubt groups and describing new taxa as well as accounting new records via extensive specimen collection, habit investigation and checking type species as well as using methods of comparative morphology, cladistics, zoogeography, biology and ecology, clarifying the border among genera, improving its synthesis classification system and conducting a preliminary explore to the biology and ecology of Dascillinae; and then investigating the biodiversity, distributional pattern and analyzing the fauna composition of this subfamily on China scale and deducing their origin and spreading history; reconstructing the phylogeny of Dascillinae to elucidate the relationships between genera of it,expecting to build a more rational system and provide important reference to the taxonomic revision and systematics study of family Dascillidae and superfamily Dascilloidea in worldwide.
花甲亚科Dascillinae是鞘翅目花甲科的最大亚群,全世界已记录7属60余种,主要分布于东洋区。但该亚科属级阶元的界定仍不明确、其生物学与生态学更是鲜为人知。我国花甲亚科资源十分丰富,现已记载5属34种,但多由外国学者在20世纪早期记述,存在描述简单、物种界定不清、单性标本定名等问题,亟待系统整理。申请者拟在前期工作的基础上,以中国花甲亚科区系为主要研究对象,通过深入采集、栖境考察与模式标本检视,综合运用比较形态学、支序系统学、生物地理学与生物学及生态学等方法,明确花甲亚科属间界限,完善其综合分类系统,初步探究该亚科昆虫生物学与生态学习性;进而澄清分类上存疑类群并描述新分类单元和新纪录类群;同时揭示我国花甲亚科属种的多样性,阐明其地理分布格局与区系特点,探索该亚科起源与扩散规律;并探讨花甲亚科属间系统发育关系,构建更为合理的分类系统,为世界花甲科和花甲总科的系统学地位研究提供重要参考。
花甲科隶属鞘翅目多食亚目花甲总科,包含花甲亚科与旱花甲亚科两大类群,全世界已记录9属80余种。其中花甲亚科记录5属70余种,分布于澳大利亚以及北半球的森林地区。且大部分种类均被归入花甲属,在欧洲大部分地区、亚洲以及北美洲较常见。另外在东南亚以及澳大利亚东海岸的高海拔地区还可找到该亚科的热带种群。我国花甲亚科昆虫区系十分丰富,但一直缺乏全面系统的研究。本项目对中国花甲亚科现生昆虫的系统分类进行了较全面的研究。在项目实施期间,赴全国多地采集标本500余头,同时前往国内外多个科研单位检视并借阅相关标本200余头。发现新种8个,中国新记录种2个,并增加13种花甲亚科昆虫在我国10省的新分布。而通过形态学研究,确定了虫体头部端部凹凸程度、前胸背板前缘轮廓、雌虫第8腹节腹板形状等新的关键分类特征。此外,对该亚科的生物学与生态学习性进行了初步探究,发现其对板栗花花粉具有较强的趋性。又通过多次实验论证,明确了最佳饲养温度,而香蕉、芒果等可作为其人工饲养的替代食物。共发表SCI论文7篇,指导与本项目相关的本科毕业论文1篇,校级大学生创新项目2个,在读硕士研究生2名。
