The White-necklaced Partridge (Arborophila gingica), near threatened species, has little publications and field records among the endemic Pheasants. Until recently, a new subspecies, A. g. guangxiensis, under small population and isolated status, was confirmed and supported by the difference both on phenotype and genotype, which indicated evolutionary distinctiveness. Thus the White-necklaced Partridge is an ideal species to explore subspeices divergence on genetic structure and habitat selection. This project will focus on: habitat selection, including roosting site, feeding site, nesting site, breeding site, and its seasonal variation of A. g. gingica and A. g. guangxiensis; genetic diversity, the impacts of gene flow and demography historical dynamic on the subspecies; the effective population size and inbreeding coefficient. Our research would also provide a scientific guidance to conserve A. g. guangxiensis effectively.
白眉山鹧鸪Arborophila gingica,全球近危种,是中国特有雉类中研究得最少的物种之一。至近期,有研究发现该物种并非单型种。新亚种数量少且隔离分布,和指名亚种间存在遗传分化并互成单系,推测新亚种在进化上是独立的。本项目将从分子和生态两个层面对指名亚种(A. g. gingica)和广西亚种(A. g. guangxiensis)进行研究,重点探讨:1)不同亚种对不同功能栖息地(夜宿地、觅食地、营巢地、繁殖活动地)的选择和季节变化;2)不同亚种的遗传多样性、基因流和历史动态;3)广西亚种小种群的有效种群大小、近交系数等,旨在进一步探讨白眉山鹧鸪亚种处于各自进化阶段时,其遗传结构和栖息地选择上产生的分化和适应,并为广西亚种的保护提供启示和科学依据。
