As society develops more and more people suffer from chronic insomnia disorders that often causes damage to cognitive function and accelerates brain aging process. To study the electroencephalogram (EEG) of brain aging in patients with chronic insomnia is a key problem in early diagnosis and treatment of cognitive dysfunction. This project will record the resting state and event related brain electric signals, develop the local and global analysis algorithm and event related potential technology, and compute brain local information figure, global synchronization and event related brain characteristics, to analyze the EEG signals of the chronic insomnia and control group: (1) investigate the significant change areas, complexity and frequency bands, combining with sleep disorder and neuropsychological scale scores to describe the correlation between the chronic insomnia disorder EEG characteristics and degree of cognitive dysfunction; (2) investigate the changes of event related potentials for cognitive dysfunction with chronic insomnia; (3) analyze the effects of various factors on cognitive dysfunction of chronic insomniacs statistically using multivariate regression method to identify the main factors and establish predictive models; (4) Analyze the EEG signals of patients with chronic insomnia in repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) treatment and non-treatment group, studying the possibility of rTMS for improving the chronic insomnia and cognitive function and verifying the correctness of the algorithm and the conclusion. This project will provide technical and objective theoretical basis for early diagnosis and treatment of cognitive dysfunction caused by chronic insomnia.
