I will use the Milky Way to study galaxy evolution. Using multiple complimentary datasets I will: find the kinematic signatures of the Milky Way's accretion history; unveil the Galactic disc's heating processes, thus illuminating the effects that shaped the recent history of our galaxy; analyse RR Lyrae stars to probe the Galactic bulge, which is arguably the oldest component of the Milky Way
