With development of ecology and more attention paid to environmental issues, plant ecological anatomy has experienced a great progress since the 1960s. The boom of biological diversity since the middle of 1980s has attracted more interests on leaf polymorphism and variability as well as ecological anatomy. However, on the ecological view, traditional plant anatomical research still has some noticeable shortcomings, such as sampling methods and sizes, ecological indices, and quantative index of anatomical characteristic. The present project aims at proposing a new conception: plant quantative ecoanatomy, by studying relationship between anatomical characters and ecological factors of Fagus species. The conception is to help to understand how anatomical character varies from the pointviews of ecological complexity and statistics.The leaf surface micro-morphological features of six Fagus species including F. longipetiolata, F. lucida, F. pashanica, F. hayatae var. zhejiangensis, F. hayatae and F. engleriana were studied and their frequency distribution curves were identified. Four frequency distribution curves, symmetry distribution, left-biased distribution, right-biased distribution and bimodal distribution were found in these six species. A new bimodal distribution function, which was used to express the anatomical characters, was derived in this study. These distribution pattern could help quantify plant morphological characters. A new taxon of Chinese beeches based on main anatomical characters was also proposed.
依据生态学和多元统计分析的方法和原理,对我国水青冈属植物进行大量取样,研究其木材和叶片的解剖特征及其频度分布样式、地理分异以及与生态因子的关系;在此基础上,探讨并发展刻画其解剖特征变异程度的数量指标,为植物生态解剖学的量化分析探索出有效可行的方法,丰富该学科的内容。
